The Seventh Annual Conference of China GNSS and LBS & China BeiDou Application Forum Held in Mianyang, Sichuan
The Seventh Annual Conference of China GNSS and LBS & China BeiDou Application Forum was held in Mianyang city, Sichuan province from September 5 to 9.
With the theme of “implementing the application of BeiDou and promoting the industrial development”, this conference aims to drive a more in-depth application of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, which is independently researched and developed by China, further carry forward the BeiDou military-civilian integrated development of satellite navigation, remote sensing, and communication, and promote the application mode “BeiDou+”; it also aims to reinforce the cooperation between relevant scientific research institutes and companies, advance the development and application of satellite navigation technology, make new contributions to the industrialization development of China BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, and provide better service to the economic and social development as well as improvement on people’s livelihood.
The conference presented the 2018 Satellite Navigation and Positioning Technology Progress Award, Innovation and Application Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, Outstanding Paper Award, and BeiDou Seven-star Award, and held the final of the first “BeiDou Star” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition with awards presented. In particular, Lifetime Achievement Award of Satellite Navigation and Positioning was presented for the first time in the annual conference, and academician Junyong Chen from Chinese Academy of Sciences and academician Qifeng Xu from Chinese Academy of Engineering received this honor.
In the main forum of this annual conference, a number of academicians and renowned experts presented keynote reports regarding topics such as BeiDou performance improvement, enhanced technology of space-earth integration, advantages of BeiDou navigation system service, innovative application of location service in urban brain intelligent transportation and so forth. During the conference, 13 sub-forums were held, covering satellite navigation + autopilot, expansion of the “Belt and Road” and BeiDou+ industries, satellite navigation and positioning in the era of big data, application of “BeiDou+ new industries”, and application of BeiDou in the Marine field. Experts and representatives of various fields communicated face-to-face, held in-depth discussions around the hotspots of the industry of satellite navigation and positioning service, and shared new technologies, new products and typical cases of application of “BeiDou +” in different fields, promoting together the development and growth of China satellite navigation and location service industry with BeiDou as the core.
The 6th China (Mianyang) Science & Technology City International High-Tech Expo was held at the same time to demonstrate new achievements in various fields, including military-civilian integration, international scientific and technological cooperation, as well as advanced and innovative technologies. GNSS & LBS Association of China hosted the exhibition area of BeiDou application, exhibits covering the whole industrial chain such as antenna, chip, receiver, application terminal, navigation and timing products, and solutions. The wide variety of new products and technologies in the exhibition area attracted many visitors to experience, while setting up a platform for exchanges and cooperation between relevant research institutes and companies in the research, development, manufacturing and application fields of BeiDou navigation.
The Sixth Second Council Meeting of GNSS & LBS Association of China and the First BeiDou Satellite Positioning Cross Country Industry Competition were also held during this period.
