BeiDou Day, the First Themed Day of China Pavilion, Was Held at the 2020 Dubai World Expo

Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a video speech at the opening of the 2020 Dubai World Expo in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, on October 1, 2021. According to President Xi, 2020 Dubai World Expo was the first World Expo held in the Middle East. Under the theme of “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future,” countries had an opportunity to share their philosophies and success of economic and social development and enhance dialogue and cooperation, which showed the significant importance of the Expo. China called on the people of all countries to work together, respond to the call of the times, strengthen global governance, pursue innovation-driven development, and advance the building of a community with a shared future for mankind. China was ready to enhance exchange and cooperation with other countries to seize the opportunities for innovation-driven development and actively promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

BeiDou Day, the event on the first themed day in China Pavilion at 2020 Dubai World Expo, was held at the main site in Beijing and connected online with Dubai. Under the theme of “BDS Navigation—Serving the World for the Benefit of Mankind,” the event was held through on-site and globally live-broadcasting channel.

During the event, attendees jointly initiated BDS Online Exhibition. The full-view and interactive BDS Online Exhibition showcased the ancient Chinese navigation culture, BeiDou Satellite Navigation System, BDS exhibition area in the China Pavilion and so on. The online exhibition was launched at the same time on the official website of BeiDou Satellite Navigation System (http://www.beidou.gov.cn) and Online China Pavilion.

BeiDou Day aimed to establish an international brand image for BDS, enhance its international influence and actively promote China’s BDS to the international stage and to serve the whole globe in good faith. As one of the four major global satellite navigation systems, BDS will always adhere to the development concept of “China’s BeiDou, the world’s BeiDou and the first-class BeiDou” and continue to contribute its share to the development of the world’s satellite navigation industry. China will establish a more wide-spread, intelligent and integrated national comprehensive navigation PNT system with BDS at its core by 2035. China will continue to join hands with countries all over the world to promote the prosperous development of global satellite navigation industry and the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind so that China’s BDS can better serve the world and benefit mankind.
