The Second China-Central Asia BeiDou Cooperation Forum Was Held in Lanzhou

The second China-Central Asia BeiDou Cooperation Forum was held in Lanzhou on October 15, 2021. Experts and scholars in the navigation industry from China and Central Asia countries gathered together and conducted in-depth exchanges around the extensive application of BDS in various fields, including transportation and logistics, tourism, agriculture and husbandry, water conservancy, geological exploration, disaster prevention and reduction and urban construction.

Under the theme of “Mutual Trust, Integration, Cooperation and Development,” the forum, held both online and offline, established an important exchange platform for satellite navigation between China and Central Asia in various forms, including cooperation signing, initiative launching, report sharing and themed exhibitions. Initiative on 2021 China-Central Asia BeiDou Cooperation Forum was also released to call for enhanced cooperation and exchanges in satellite navigation between the two parties and share the establishment and development achievements of BDS.

This year’s China-Central Asia BeiDou Cooperation Forum provided opportunities for cooperation and exchanges in satellite navigation technology, its application and industrial development between China and countries involved, receiving strong response from all participants. Under the guidance of the Belt and Road initiative, cooperation between China and Central Asia has developed rapidly, setting up a new model of friendly, mutually beneficial and win-win national relations. With BDS navigation technology, Central Asia and China Railway Express have overcome the difficulties caused by the pandemic and realized normal operation, bringing new economic benefits and development opportunities to the Belt and Road initiative.

“China’s BeiDou, the world’s BeiDou and the first-class BeiDou.” The year 2021 marks the first anniversary of the establishment and launch of BeiDou-3 Global Navigation Satellite System. It also represents a new stage in which the large-scale application of BDS has achieved market-oriented, industrialized and international development. This year’s China-Central Asia BeiDou Cooperation Forum held under the above backdrop has fully demonstrated the responsibility and good vision of BDS, in which it has enhanced the pace of opening-up and cooperation, actively integrated into the international industry system and continues to contribute its share to the world satellite navigation industry.
