BeiDou Security Information Broadcasting System upgraded, the information exchange now is available between BeiDou and Wechat

On December 19, the Navigation Guarantee Center of North China Sea MOT released in its press conference that the BeiDou Security Information Broadcasting System (BSIBS) had been upgraded, which could visualize the navigation warning on the electronic sea map and successfully realize the information exchange between BeiDou and Wechat.

Developed by BSIBS in 2015, BeiDou Security Information Broadcasting System offers the latest significant marine security information released by Tianjin Coastal Radio Station in time, and people can call the police via the BeiDou terminal when they are in trouble, which realizes the message communication between marine BeiDou terminal and the mobile phone users on land. It was open to the public on December 1st, 2016.

Zhao Fenglong, chief of the Correspondence Division of Navigation Guarantee Center of North China Sea MOT, said that in 2017 the center successfully upgraded the current system through technology breakthroughs, which can visualize navigation warnings on the marine sea map. a ship equipped with the BeiDou navigation device approaches or even enters the warning area, the system will automatically send information from BeiDou to it, noting that the navigation risk should be minded and dealt with, thus the possible danger caused by poor information can be reduced a lot.

Besides, this system has realized the information exchange between BeiDou and Wechat. After verification, the Wechat users on land can communicate and send information with the BeiDou boats on the sea, making it accessible to connect BeiDou to the mobile applications like Wechat and greatly expands the applying area of BeiDou communication on the sea, which is helpful to improve the marine industrialization of BeiDou.

Established and started in Tianjin on December 20, 2012, the Navigation Guarantee Center of North China Sea MOT takes the responsibility of navigation service for North China Sea, which covers Shandong Province, Hebei Province, Liaoning Province, Heilongjiang Province and Tianjin Municipality.
